Ask SoapMetrics is SoapMetrics' own soap-making AI. It is a recipe-aware assistant that helps you understand the formula currently loaded in the calculator and get professional-style guidance on formulation questions—trace, lather, softness, additives, and more.
What is Ask SoapMetrics?
SoapMetrics built Ask SoapMetrics so soap makers can get recipe-specific help without leaving the calculator. It is not a generic chatbot that guesses a formula from a few oils you type into a blank box. It reads the recipe currently loaded in SoapMetrics—oils, lye settings, water method, fragrance, additives, and analysis—and answers in that context.
The goal is professional assistance for formulation questions: why a batch might trace quickly, why a bar could stay soft, how the oil blend may affect lather, or what you might change to make the soap more conditioning. The calculator still owns the numbers. Ask SoapMetrics helps you think through what those numbers may mean.
Ask SoapMetrics is included with SoapMetrics Premium. The soap calculator and standard recipe analysis stay free.
How to use it

Load a recipe
Build or open the formula in the Soap Calculator so oils, lye settings, water, fragrance, and additives are current.

Open Ask SoapMetrics
Choose the Ask SoapMetrics tab. Premium members can start a new chat or continue a saved conversation for that recipe.

Ask, then verify
Ask a formulation question, read the reply against your calculator numbers, and double-check anything you will weigh, mix, or sell.

What you can ask
Questions work best when they are about the recipe on screen—not a different formula, and not a request to recalculate lye, SAP values, or weights.
Trace and workability
Ask why a recipe may accelerate, stay thin, or be harder to pour—based on the oils, additives, and fragrance currently loaded.
Lather and bar feel
Get help thinking through bubbles, creaminess, softness, and conditioning in the blend you are actually formulating.
Additives and process notes
Ask how clays, milks, salts, or similar extras in this recipe might affect heat, color, or how the batch behaves.
Formulation direction
Explore what you might change for a more conditioning bar, a firmer bar, or a different lather—without the assistant recalculating lye for you.

Yes. Ask SoapMetrics is a Premium feature. The soap calculator and standard recipe analysis stay free. Premium also includes saved recipes, batch tracking, inventory, Soap Cost Calculator, and related workspace tools.
Does Ask SoapMetrics recalculate lye or change my recipe?
No. The calculator remains the source for lye, water, superfat, and weights. Ask SoapMetrics is assistance for understanding the loaded recipe. It does not edit the formula for you.
Can I trust every answer?
No. This is AI, and AI can make mistakes. Always double-check replies against the calculator, your supplier data, and safe soap-making practice before you weigh, mix, or sell. If an answer disagrees with the calculator, trust the calculator numbers.
How do I start a conversation?
Load or build a complete recipe in the Soap Calculator, open the Ask SoapMetrics tab, and type a question or choose an example prompt. Previous chats are saved to your Premium account and can be deleted from the chat list.
